Meet Kate
Kate Webb is a Certified Sommelier and the Co-founder and CEO of Sun Moon Rising, the world’s first astrology-inspired wine brand. She moved to New York City at the age of 23 to pursue a career in hospitality and earned her certification as a sommelier by the age of 25. When the Covid-19 pandemic hit in 2020, Webb seized the opportunity to explore entrepreneurial ventures, discovering a unique connection between wine and astrology. Surprised that no wine brand had ever created a collection tailored to the 12 Zodiac signs, she set out to develop an entirely new approach to winemaking, where each sign influenced the techniques used. By June 2023, she unveiled her first Cosmic Collection at select locations across New York. After receiving an overwhelming response, Webb officially launched the brand nationwide online in September 2024. Today, Webb oversees all business operations and winemaking at Sun Moon Rising. Committed to sustainability and elevating New York State as an emerging wine region, she has proudly partnered with award-winning winemakers, premier local vineyards, and certified astrologers to bring this cosmic vision to life.
